Dreamspace

Within the universe of TTG, the Dreamspace is, in essence, one's very soul. It is the place where one draws the fluid favor in order to cast spells, and stores the static favor which sustains a mech; If Favor in both forms is energy created from emotions, then the Dreamspace is both the generator and the battery from which said energy is created and stored for later use. Those who born without a Dreamspace, either due to being the product of cloning or the extremely rare case of just naturally being born without one, are essentially soulless husks devoid of emotion and lacking access to favor. Temperance Lucas is an example of this phenomena, having been naturally born without a Dreamspace and needing a prosthetic one created for her by the Diviner in order to experience emotions and utilize a mech.

By accessing the Dreamspace of another, it is possible to access and control their mech within reason. This is demonstrated by the late Wine, former god of Gluttony, who's spark allowed her to merge her Dreamspace with another individual's and do precisely what is described above. Twins are a notable offshoot of this concept, as in the TTG universe, Twins are effectively one soul (ie, one Dreamspace) split among 2 physical bodies. This shared Dreamspace allows twins to share a mech, as well as communicate with one another even over great distances, although the base degree of this communication's efficacy is currently unknown, given the only pair of twins featured in TTG thus far, Artemis and Fowl, were explicitly trained to extend their communication with each other even across entire planes.
