Lawrence Lomellian

Personal information
Alias: Ricochet
Age: 30(TTG)
Gender: Male
Sin: Pride
Occupation: Mech Fighter
Family: Unknown

Lawrence Lomellian was among the top 8 mech pilots participating in the Tournament of the Gods held during the Nil Crisis in the Year 32 AD. He entered the competition under the alias of "Ricochet" and initially held the 5th seat in the tourney. He ultimately resigned from the tourney after losing faith in the gods' intentions. It is unknown what happened to him after he left the tourney.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Lawrence liked to enjoy himself, and got most of his enjoyment from fighting. He was a hardened warrior who had been battling with mechs since a very young age, and loved the thrill of the sport and feeling like a hero. Outside of combat, he usually toned down his enthusiasm and made an effort to just be personable to those around him.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Lawrence was a Caucasian male standing at 6'10". He had red hair, blue eyes, and a lean and athletic build.

Ricochet is a blue mech with a bulky, humanoid shape. It had large pauldrons, a sunken-in helmet with a black visor, and heavy plating all across its torso. It's arms were relatively sleek towards the shoulder, but gradually became thicker from there until they ended in two large fists. It's legs were similarly designed, with a pair of large, circular feet.

Richochet's mech was an MAU build which specialized in using its spark, Grappling Hands, to punch and grab enemies from range by launching it's fists like grappling hooks. It's fighting style revolved heavily on latching onto opponents before locking it's legs in place and engaging a "hover" mode that made it easier to move around. It would usually then proceed to violently ram into it's opponent by retracting it's arms at high speed, and from there use the opening created in order to inflict further damage or to activate it's signature: Pinball Slam. Pinball Slam could only be activated when Richochet was latched onto his target at close range, but when these conditions were met it allowed him to launch both of them off the ground at high speed, bouncing around the arena while using his opponent to himself shield for the heavy impacts sustained and dealing heavy damage to them in turn.

Ricochet's armor plating was heavy and thick enough to easily survive most Physical attacks that struck it, as well as outfitted with shock absorbers to dampen the kinetic impact of explosives. It sorely lacked in its defense against energy attacks however. As such, even with the shock absorbers, explosions could still do considerable damage to it from their heat alone. Ricochet was relatively slow on foot, but clever use of its spark and hover mode could allow it short bursts of speed around the arena.

Life[edit | edit source]

Little is known about Lawrence's life, except that he began fighting mech early in his youth, and continued to progress in skill over his career; at least enough to qualify for one of the lower seats of the Nil Tourney. What became of him after he lost faith in the tourney and left is entirely unknown.

Role[edit | edit source]

TTG[edit | edit source]

Richochet was one of the lower ranked fighters to enter the final Tourney of the Gods during the Nil Crisis. There he fought the MBO pilot LOLI_HUNTER, as well as the Hellfire Knight. Lawrence's inability (or perhaps his sheer stubbornness) to adapt to a changing meta and make some investments in energy defenses ultimately saw him performing rather poorly in these matches. He ultimately came to believe that the gods did not have the competitor's best interest at heart, and could not compel himself to remain in the competition knowing that he and his fellow fighters were simply being used as a means to an end.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Richochet did not grow particularly close with any of the other competitors during his time in the tourney. What relationships he had prior or after it remain unknown.
