Solomon Ryke was among the top 8 mech pilots participating in the Tournament of the Gods held during the Nil Crisis in the Year 32 AD. He entered the competition under the name of Revenant, and initially held the first seat of all the pilots in the tourney thanks having the highest favor count(and thus win-loss ratio) of all of them. Despite this initial status and his sound defeat of Supernova in the first round of matches, however, various circumstances culminated in Revenant's performance being hindered in later matches, and due to personal reasons he ultimately dropped out of the Tourney shortly after his Interlude battle against the God of Lust, Swag. Despite his failure to win any of his matches after the first however, it is still worth noting that in nearly all his subsequent Tourney battles, Revenant managed to push his opponents to the brink of defeat, and most, if not all, of the loses he suffered were remarkably close.

Following his surrender against Swag, Revenant vanishes for the remainder of the Nil Crisis. Years later he resurfaces in the public space as the creator of the Revelation System and the assistant/successor to the Diviner, Leonard Davidson. Where Revenant was or what he did in the time in-between is known to only a select few individuals, with the general public simply assuming he quietly retired from Mech Combat to dedicate himself to Mech Development full-time.

During and leading up the Nil Crisis, Sully used a SMO build focused on disabling opponents from range and then closing in for a kill. He wielded a crimson katana named "Ragnarok" (which was later converted into a massive Chakram) as his primary weapon, though he also used plasma sabers and metallic spheres hidden in various compartments around his mech. His spark, the Tesla Pulse, granted Sully unrivaled control over electromagnetic fields, allowing him to use magnetism in a variety of ways from defending himself from metallic projectiles and physical strikes, enhancing the power of his own strikes by accelerating their velocity to match that of rail gun, enhancing his own mobility through applying similar methods to his own body, or even the creation and firing of powerful electrical bolts. These were all just secondary effects of the Tesla Pulse however, as it's primary purpose was to create a massive EMP which would disable any mech caught in it's path; this effectively left his opponents helpless to stop Solomon's subsequent onslaught of attacks. Combined with his own skill and training as a warrior, the Tesla Pulse allowed Solomon to become the top-ranked fighter during the initial phases of the tourney.

Life[edit | edit source]

Early Life and Training[edit | edit source]

Solomon was born and raised in Pride. His father, David, was a Mech mechanic and the last living descendant of the Ryke, a centuries old warrior clan who had traditionally aligned with the Body Enclave before David's defection to the newly formed Tech Enclave. His mother, Sharai, was a former street urchin who turned Mech fighter. Sharai would abandon both Solomon and David just a few months after his birth, resulting in David's embitterment towards his estranged wife, which he would pass onto Solomon in the years to follow.

Sometime shortly after Sharai's flight, David sheltered a young girl whom he found wandering within the Anchor boundaries of his shop. The girl, having only a numeric code as an identifier, was given the name of "Tesla" by David due to her fascination with electrical phenomena. He would go on to raise Tesla as his own, and she would become a big sister to Solomon as they grew up. As an infant, Solomon was present in the stands during the Coming of Age matches held in Pride.

As a lad, Solomon was bullied by a gang of older boys belonging to various clans who had long feuded with the Rykes. Tesla, who was at this point both older and stronger than the boys, was adamant about finding and beating each and every one of the gang members. David, however, forbid this course of action, and instead taught Solomon the basics of self-defense. Sully took quickly to the techniques, and would practice them on his own in the hopes of becoming strong enough to bring an end to his torment. He eventually accomplished just that during one fateful encounter, wherein he preemptively broke the gang leader's nose and threatened to do worse to the others if they insisted on fighting him. When Solomon returned home and told his father the news, David chastised him for acting so dishonorably, but also commended his sheer moxie in pulling such a move. David began training Solomon in the art of Mech fighting shortly thereafter, feeling these events had proven he was ready to learn.

During his training, Solomon would have encounters with many other youths entering the Mech scene. Among these was a girl named Sasha, whom Solomon would become fast friends with despite their clans' vastly differently fighting styles and philosophies. Solomon proved to have genuine talent as a Mech pilot, emerging victorious from many of his early matches and beginning to make a name for himself. At this point, confident his son was ready to complete his training, David began to teach Solomon how to harness the Berserker Trance, a powerful rage long passed down throughout the Ryke clan which allowed it's users to gain unstoppable levels of power for a few precious moments at the cost of disintegrating their own Mechs. Solomon found the power of his bloodline difficult to manage, but nevertheless pressed on, hoping to hone his mastery of it in the arena. Sasha agreed to help him with this endeavor, and they engaged in a mock battle wherein Solomon intentionally took as much damage as his Mech could stand before entering the trance. Within the span of mere seconds, he was able to wade through the barrage of Sasha's attacks and deal enough damage to immediately turn the fight around, but disaster struck shortly thereafter. Unable to maintain his control, Solomon quickly lost himself in the rage and continued to batter Sasha's Mech to the point where her Favor Protection was on the verge of collapse and her life put in immediate danger. Tesla, having been present to witness and referee the match, quickly intervened and managed to easily hold Solomon at bay until the Trance ended.

The Vanishing of Tesla[edit | edit source]

Role[edit | edit source]

TTG[edit | edit source]

Solomon held the First Seat in the Tournament of the Gods and was, surprisingly, Bear's favored contestant. He defeated Supernova in the first round of the tournament, and later engaged Strider, Silent Requiem, Giant, and the 3rd god Swag in the subsequent rounds. His match against Supernova was his only official victory in the tourney, though his losses against Strider and Giant were close, and he would've easily defeated Silent Requiem had the latter not have cheated and used the Mech Phase technique at the last minute.

Solomon's resolve to participate in the tourney was first tested when the 2nd god Seeker sought him out following his battle against Strider. Seeker wished to enlist his help in finding his long missing sister, Tesla, as she believed Tesla would be able to help her locate her estranged Husband. Solomon, having last seen his sister when she left more than a decade prior, was unable to help and Seeker ultimately left unsuccessful, though she thanked him anyway. This conversation would prove to stir up long buried emotions regarding his sister's disappearance, namely the frustration and guilt at his own weakness that day. These emotions slowly but surely began to wear down the cocky, self-assured facade Solomon had built up since that day, and left him significantly unbalanced and distracted during his subsequent battles in the tournament. Even in this compromised state however, he still managed to severely damage and nearly defeat Silent Requiem and Giant, attesting to his genuine skill as a warrior.

Shortly before the fourth round of Matches in greed, Solomon was approached by the 1st god Lord and was recruited to help get information out the mysterious being known as Arcturus. The gods had sought out Solomon's help in this matter specifically because of Asmodeus, Solomon's AI servant. Arcturus was notorious for memory wiping anyone who encountered him, and it was hoped that Asmodeus' unique nature as a nueral-integrated AI assistant would allow him to find a way to circumvent the inevitable memory wipe. This theory ultimately proved correct, though Asmodeus suffered heavy corruption and only managed to save the recording he took of the encounter by encrypting it in countless lines of nonsensical code before he was forced into emergency shutdown. Given his partial corruption, Asmodeus was largely absent through the matches in greed as he rebuilt the damaged portions of his own code using information pulled from Solomon's memory. In Asmodeus' absence, Solomon faced off against Slumbering Giant, and without the aid of his old friend felt pressured enough by the battle to call upon a power he had forsaken long ago. Tired of his own lackluster performance, Solomon gave in to the temptation of his Id and once more embraced the Berserker Trance, a technique passed down through the Ryke clan for generations. This series of events would've led to Solomon's death in the Arena had Asmodeus not have restored himself at just the right moment and seized control of the mech away from Solomon, ultimately saving him from being crushed to death as the protection of his Favor finally gave out.

With each match Solomon fought after his conversation with Seeker, he came closer and closer to at long last realizing how he'd been lying to himself and those around him as to his motives for fighting. By the time of the Tourney's interlude and the gods revealing the true severity of the Tourney's situation to the competitors, Solomon had come to accept that since his sister's disappearance, he'd just been using mech combat as a means to vent his frustration about lacking the strength to make her stay, which he believes would've saved her from whatever fate befell her in the wilds of Tempest. With this epiphany, the last of Solomon's motivation to continue fighting for sport dwindled to nothing. This ultimately led to him suddenly resigning from the tournament during his interlude battle against the 3rd god, Swag, and his disappearance for several years following the Nil Crisis.

TTG 2[edit | edit source]

Several years after the Nil Crisis, Solomon reemerged into the public space as the assistant to the diviner, Leonard Davidson, and the creator of a new system of mech combat named "Revelation". By the time of TTG 2, Solomon has become the successor of the Diviner, and serves as the official mechanic for the competitors undergoing the new trial for godhood. Despite this role, he is not allowed to modify the competitor's mechs, as the gods want them to fight their way through the trial using the builds which got them there to begin with. With this restriction in place, the most sully can do is perform mech repairs, diagnostics, and give out various bits of information and advice.
