God

Hiroki Yukimura was one of the top competitors in a tournament to become a god held across the Planes. She was better known as the Hellfire Knight, her publicly known alias, going to pains to conceal her true identity, though this disguise was later broken.

Her Personal Skill is God Shattering Star.

She appears in The Tenth God as a tournament fighter.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Hiroki's personality could be described as a mess of contradictions, particularly taken in with her appearance. Jittery, easily stressed, and poor at coping with said stress, Hiroki was nevertheless stubborn in the extreme. Her reaction to most strangers was suspicion and distrust, if not outright hostility; everyone was perceived as a potential threat, if only to her ego rather than a physical one. Her pursuit of victory in the tournament was tied in with this; she could never quite convince herself of her own talents, and thus sought to prove them by more objective metrics. Despite her relative aggressiveness, she was quite shy and actively avoided social contact with most people.

She demonstrated much more composure - though even this was rather imperfect - when challenged in the ring, and donning her disguise seemed to give her a bit more social courage. Since her ascension, her nervousness and poor self-esteem have receded somewhat, but are still apparent to those who know her personality. The latter has become more focused on (what she considers to be) concrete metrics as well.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

A girl with fairly light skin and a rather small frame, even for her age, standing at about 4'8" or 142 cm. She had the unusual combination of somewhat large violet eyes and fine, hip-length silver hair. She was about as well-muscled as you'd expect the average fifteen year old teenage girl to be. Overall, her face lent itself to an impression of looking rather refined and aristocratic. She generally wore a dark-colored skirt with a lighter, long-sleeved top, both with violet accents to complement her eyes. She would occasionally pair this with leggings, and if she felt particularly adventurous (a rare occurence) a somewhat shorter than usual skirt. Her voice, while not low in the objective sense, was markedly lower than one might expect from her light frame.

When operating under her Hellfire Knight alias, she donned a large, drab cloak that concealed many of her proportions. She also wore a pair of very tall platform shoes, combined with a slightly hunched posture, in an effort to conceal her true height. Completing the disguise was a voice changer mounted on her chin that ran back to her throat; whispering into the device would produce a harsh and clearly artificial version of what she spoke. It did not handle sounds such as gasps or sighs well, blasting listeners with static.

The Hellfire Knight was a FAD mech known for its high volume of plasma-based attacks and balanced armor distribution, and hovered in order to gain unique mobility characteristics (though it was still quite slow and unmaneuverable overall.) The mech was humanoid, with heavy, dark plates of armor and a head sunk into the torso to allow Hiroki to fit within and operate it properly. It bore large plasma cannons on its right hand and both shoulders, with the left hand being a powerful claw for grappling opponents. The most notable feature of the Hellfire Knight was its "wings," twin flexible arrays of guns and thrusters that spread out from either side of the torso. Underneath the plating was a network that carried plasma through the mech, which was exposed when it took severe damage.

Its initial special ability was Hellfire Mantle, a shield of plasma that could be discharged as an attack or propulsion. This was replaced by a short time by Hellfire Burst, which allowed the mech a sudden burst of speed in any direction, and eventually by the Fission Core, allowing it to temporarily transform into a miniature sun.

Life[edit | edit source]

Hiroki was born on the plane of Greed. She lived in a fairly wealthy family, and rarely lacked materially as she grew up. However, her parents, while not abusive, often ignored their daughter, causing her social maladjustment and need for approval later in life. Mech fighting served as an occupation and outlet, and she quickly built up skill and power as she fought.

Role[edit | edit source]

She was one of the competitors to reach the final stage of the tournament. She was Blink's favorite contestant. She defeated Ricochet, Silent Requiem, LOLI_HUNTER, and Supernova before the tournament's end. This earned her the right to an exhibition match against Lord.

The Hellfire Knight attempted to kill Supernova at the request of Blink once the latter had conceded defeat in their match on Greed, as part of a ploy to draw out the False God, who had been aiding Supernova without his consent. The plan succeeded, but Supernova was injured by the Tenth God, with Hiroki's disguise being compromised in the process. This began a series of events that derailed the tournament, as it and the ensuring exhibition matches shook the will of the competitors and caused several of the remaining competitors to leave for various reasons.

When Hiroki was called to Wrath for the fifth round of the tournament, she heard Aries's declaration of war against Tempest. After leaving his audience, she encountered Grima and Arcturus, where the latter issued a challenge to her. Though she did not take it up then, she stated her intention to do so later, and followed through after a discussion with the gods on both sides of the conflict.

She fought Arcturus to a draw, and during the combat had her potential awakened, changing the special ability of her mech to the Fission Core. She had a conversation with Arcturus after he yielded victory, in which he gave her advice about dealing with Watcher and Cardinal before she was whisked away by the former. Watcher explained to her that he intended to raise her as his "hero" by having her defeat Cardinal and save the planes.

When she arrived in the false plane of Nil, she tried to sway Cardinal by revealing what Watcher had said to her. Despite this, they did battle, and Cardinal attempted to kill her in desperation after realizing she could not win in a direct fight. Watcher rescued Hiroki, who then refused to strike down Cardinal, prompting him to begin destroying the plane. Hiroki launched an assault on him, and was nearly destroyed when Watcher unleashed a powerful attack. However, Cardinal intervened, absorbing the attack and seemingly dying in the process. She renewed her attack despite Watcher's extreme advantage and the existing heavy damage to her mech, and in activating her ability brought the plane into proper existence as the Plane of Hope as the true Tenth God. Her fight with Watcher continued, and while he nearly removed her mech from her entirely, she was able to seize back enough power to stagger him with a final strike, allowing Cardinal to pronounce her judgement upon him.

Before Watcher faded away in the aftermath of Cardinal's attack, he gave a cryptic warning to both, as well as a request to tell Sarah he loved her.

TTG 2

Hiroki appears in her role as the God of Hope, hosting the competitors in the Trial.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Hiroki had a confused relationship with Kagari; the current status of this is unknown, after the latter left the tournament.

She has an amicable relationship with Blink, relying on her for advice and defending her to others.

She feels a kinship with Arcturus, viewing him as not unlike a favored uncle or surrogate father figure. Hiroki occasionally asks him for advice on non-political matters.

She wishes to find Supernova and apologize for the attempt on his life, despite its necessity.

She holds a lingering grudge against Adam for his underhanded tactics during their match, though she is attempting to get over this and maintains decent relations with him.
